The things that we run to seeking to find relief from our loneliness actually, in the end, leave us more lonely, empty, and broken.
The angel told Daniel that, in the last days, knowledge would increase. We never could have imagined the kind: vain, trivial, and empty. Never before has man known more about meaningless, trivial knowledge about empty lives, vain pursuits, awakening unprecedented restlessness. We have, as a nation, become content to talk about nothing, and nothing of consequence, and thus live hollow lives of diminished meaning. The church has a different destiny: heart overflowing with a good theme, tongue the pen of a ready writer, conquered by the beauty of Jesus. -David Sliker
