And he told those who sold the pigeons, “Take these things away; do not make my Father’s house a house of trade.” His disciples remembered that it was written, “Zeal for your house will consume me.”

Jesus's zeal was for the temple, not against it. All Jews at the time knew the temple to be the epicenter of the resurrection and the age to come (cf Isa 2:2; Eze 37:26). And Jesus's own resurrection was a sign (vv. 18-19) which confirmed his zeal and authority over his Father's house. - John P. Harrigan
