Our primary role as leaders, fathers, and mothers is to hand the next generation the right Jesus, the right storyline, and the right dream. Humanistic self-centeredness turns the Jesus of the Bible, and the story He is writing, into covetous dreams masked by spiritual language. The American Jesus is a means to a self-indulgent end, with a story about us that imagines all of our self-serving dreams coming true. -David Sliker
