Theology 101:

Them: “The Early Church Fathers taught X.”

Me: “The who?”

Them: “The Early Church Fathers.”

Me: “All the church fathers?”

Them: “Well, not all.”

Me: “How many?”

Them: “Well, some.”

Me: “Which ones?”

Them: “Well, Saint So-and So.”

Me: “So one. And when did he live?”

Them: “Like, around 400..”

Me: “So not particularly early.”

Them: “But a church father.”

Me: “Okay. One late church father taught X. Fine. Did you know some earlier church fathers taught Y, and some others taught Z?”
