Intertextuality is one of the keys to a solid Biblical hermeneutic. The intertextual links between different prophecies is often what confirms the correct interpretation. Those who ignore intertextuality frequently come up with novel, biased, and incorrect interpretations. -Travis Snow

“The life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it for you on the altar to make atonement for your souls, for it is the blood that makes atonement by the life.” Leviticus 17:11

Remove the blood: life goes, death comes. Thus Christ gave his life in death by blood. -John Piper

Beloved, I am burdened right now for the Body of Christ. There are many people that have been shaken this last year and are ready to draw back. Many are disillusioned because of the intense political divisions and disappointments in society. Many are grieving because of the tragic moral failings of spiritual leaders we once revered. Many are hurting because of the general sense of loneliness and isolation from authentic Christian community we've had to endure during this pandemic. In the light of this, I want to encourage you that the answer is not drawing back in our faith; the answer is refocusing our eyes. When the author of Hebrews wrote to a Christian community experiencing great shaking and suffering he encouraged them to "put their eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith." The answer to the problems we face in these perilous times has not changed. It has always been the same. We must set our eyes on Jesus again! -Allen Hood

On the day of Pentecost, Peter said, what? “Read the Four Laws”? Or “go to a convention for a weekend”? Or “take something to calm your mind down because you’re upset”?

No; Peter said the same thing as Jesus and the same thing as John the Baptist, he said, “Repent!” (Acts 2:38) In Luke 3:8 it says John the Baptist began to preach and to say: "Repent"! And in [Mark 1:15] it says Jesus “began to preach and say,” what? "Repent"!

Open the Book of Exodus and contemplate the earth shaking terror and majesty of what happened when God came down before the people at Mount Sinai.

Then consider that the Bible frames that historical event as a faint foreshadow of the absolute glory of the return of Jesus. -Joel Richardson

For we are God’s coworkers. You are God’s field, God’s building... each one’s work will become obvious. For the Day will disclose it, because it will be revealed by fire 1 Corinthians 3:9, 13

The "works" here are disciples, not moral deeds. The Day will reveal shallow discipleship. -John Harrigan

If there is one word to associate with the prophet's ministry, it is "repent." Anything that claims to be "prophetic" yet is totally devoid of the message of repentance is not worthy of the name. -Dr. Micheal Brown

C.I. Scofield said God is going to rapture the Church and take it to heaven and purify it, and get the Bride there. That’s wrong. It says in the book of Revelation: “the Bride hath made HERSELF ready.” (Revelation 19:7) -Leonard Ravenhill

“Jesus did not need to come into this world to reign in heaven. He was reigning in heaven before He came into this world...He was born into the Royal line of Israel so that as the Son of David he can rule from David’s throne in Jerusalem.” - Dan Gruber

“We don’t need another sermon!”

I’m always bothered by this sentiment. Singing scripture moves the heart Preaching scripture provokes the heart Teaching scripture stabilizes the heart We need 10,000 sermons and more about Jesus everywhere in every nation until He comes.

Christians often have macho views of what it means to be an overcomer. Being beheaded for preaching boldly to the pagans and so forth. For many, however, it's more like dying of cancer without losing faith and cursing God. Overcoming is always done in weakness, not strength. -Joel Richardson

"...with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day” (2 Peter 3:8).

One day—when we’ve been there 10,000 years—we will understand this by personal experience. No longer a mere theological concept, but reality. What a marvel to ponder.
