“What God foretold by the prophets, that Christ would suffer, he fulfilled. Repent therefore.” Acts 3:18–19

The call for repentance is based not only on Christ’s death for sinners, but also that it was foretold. Christ crucified is compelling by power and confirmed by prophecy. -John Piper

"Jesus, who pass'd the angels by,

Assum'd our flesh to bleed & die,

& still He makes it His abode;

As man, He fills the throne of God.

Our next of kin, our Brother now,

Is He to whom the angels bow;

They join w/ us to praise His name,

But we the nearest interest claim."

Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him, and all tribes of the earth will wail on account of him. Even so. Amen.

“Rend your hearts and not your garments.

Return to the Lord your God, for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love.” Joel 2:13 First be broken-hearted for your sin. Then pray for discernment between garment-rending and heart-rending. - John Piper

In the first chapter of 1st Peter, Peter talks about being chosen, obedient, and sprinkled by the blood of the lamb. He talks about the resurrection, necessity of suffering, and the 2nd coming of the Messiah. He talks about the Messianic revelation in the OT, the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit, the Spirit's role in preaching, the call to holiness, being born again, and why we should live in fear of the Lord.

These are the things the leader of the Apostles said we should dwell on if we want to experience "salvation."

Step outside your beliefs for a second on Christ being our savior.

The description in the Bible of a man-god coming to save those that love Him at the last hour seems far fetched. But people have been imagining this for a long time and our heroes in comics are a good example.

We long for this. It’s innate. Longing for justice and peace is in our make-up. The evidence for the Resurrection is the foundation to build upon the guarantees with His coming. - TJ Sewob

Let God arise (from His throne)
Let His enemies be scattered
Let those who hate him flee from his presence
As smoke is blown away, so blow them away
As wax melts before the fire, let the wicked be destroyed before you, God.
And let the righteous be glad. (Psalm 68:1–3)

It's often said that Jesus rebuked the religious leaders far more harshly than anyone else. Actually, Jesus' harshest words were reserved for Peter, when he failed to recognize the wisdom of the cross.

Now, a hope that is already realized is by definition not a hope. Who, after all, when it comes to something he already has, hopes for it? If it something still to come, though, on which we are setting our hope, it is with patient endurance that we wait for it. Romans 8:25 Blessed Hope Translation Bible

"Make you sure of this, that the whole drama of redemption cannot be perfected without this last act of the coming of the King. It must be so. The man of Nazareth will come again. None shall spit in His face then; but every knee shall bow before Him. I think that the millennium will commence after His coming, and not before it. I cannot imagine the kingdom with the King absent."

To have "faith" is not to blindly believe or baselessly trust. Faith reckons God as trustworthy based on his past track record. How can we be confident he'll do everything he's promised? Because of what he's already accomplished and fulfilled in the past. - Joshua Hawkins
