This was the joy set before you, that you would have my heart forever. -Matt Gilman

When hearing any sermon, our first priority is to look for a biblical connection to Jesus, then forge a clear action plan of application. How a sermon makes you "feel" in the moment is irrelevant, and actually unhelpful, if we take Paul's charge to "test all things" seriously. If our primary means of discernment is how sermons make us feel, we're in grave danger of being held captive to the seduction of sentiment. Have we built our understanding of Jesus around how He makes us feel or around who He really is? -David Sliker

Crowds went from thinking Paul was a god to stoning him and dragging his body (Acts 14:11-19). There is no soundness in the opinions of men. -Stephen Venable

The Holy Spirit doesn't just "want" to speak to us, He yearns jealously to speak to us. He is burning to speak to us. Are we attentive? -David Sliker

God raised Jesus because He had finished His assignment of procuring the justification of sinners, Rom. 4:25. If you find yourself suffering a crucifixion, or enduring a dark burial, finish your assignment. Then comes resurrection. -Bob Sorge

When the the helpless ache of injustice pierces and seemingly insurmountable crisis rages, do not weep. Behold, the Lamb of God! Our humanistic, activistic compulsion to combat the course of this wicked world with wasted words and empty gestures is simply vanity. The Father reveals, at the end of the canon, the most spectacularly simple answer to the storm of an unjust, fallen world: Behold the Lamb! -David Sliker

“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it” (John 1:5). At Calvary, light descended to the pit of darkness. Sheol, the pit of outer darkness, could not overcome the light, could not seize or control it, and could not extinguish it. Christ arose! -Bob Sorge

The selfless nature of Christianity: true joy won't be found by seeking our own glory, but is found only when magnifying the glory of Jesus. -Joshua Hawkins

The Jews knew the cross would crush Christianity. Kill the leader, you kill the movement. What, then, explains the movement’s explosion? Only answer: Resurrection. If they could have, His enemies would have produced a body. There was no body to produce. Why would men who were unwilling to die for a living leader now be willing to die for a dead one? Only answer: Resurrection. -Bob Sorge

The one who beholds the Lamb does so with the hope of becoming "Lamb-like" in meekness, lowliness and endurance. -David Sliker
