When hearing any sermon, our first priority is to look for a biblical connection to Jesus, then forge a clear action plan of application. How a sermon makes you "feel" in the moment is irrelevant, and actually unhelpful, if we take Paul's charge to "test all things" seriously. If our primary means of discernment is how sermons make us feel, we're in grave danger of being held captive to the seduction of sentiment. Have we built our understanding of Jesus around how He makes us feel or around who He really is? -David Sliker
