Jesus didn’t say, “John, I have appeared to you in order to establish you in your identity and show you who you really are.” Jesus said to John, “I am the Alpha and the Omega” Rev 1:11. John didn’t need a revelation of himself, but of Jesus Christ. Seeing Jesus has a way of settling all our identity issues. -Bob Sorge
