On the last day, when God opens the books of history and charges each and every human being with the crimes they committed while in the body, only those whose names are written in the book of life (by faith in God’s sacrifice on their behalf) will be acquitted. Those without faith in Christ crucified will bear their own sin, and thus they will be thrown into the lake of fire. Then the acquitted will inherit eternal life and will be rewarded according to their righteous deeds.
